計6人からなるChim↑Pom。5人の男性メンバーは日常的に破天荒なエリイに責められ、常に本質を突きつけられる。どんなに理論武装しても、「裸にされる」という感覚だ。結成以来、Chim↑Pomはそんなエリイに「酔う」ことで、さまざまなプロジェクトを制作してきた。美術史上のどんなミューズとも、フェミニズムやポップカルチャーのアイコンなどとも似て「非なる」エリイの捉えきれなさ。それをどうビジュアル化するかというアイデア会議から生まれた作品群が、このシリーズ。メンバーが「裸にされる」ように、エリイの存在を通じてアートは社会を裸にできる。じつは、その漠然とした手応えこそがChim↑Pom結成の理由であり、《ERIGERO》からそのキャリアが始まった。もちろん、エリイ自身のライフワークでもある。 2006-
Chim↑Pom is made up of six members. Eccentric Ellie teases the other five male artists on a daily basis and forces them to confront the true essence of things. Regardless of their theoretical arguments, the feeling is similar to being “stripped down naked.” Since the formation of the group, Chim↑Pom has been “captivated” by Ellie, who inspires them to create many different projects. Even though Ellie shares some similarities with art history muses, feminists and pop culture icons, Ellie’s nature stays incomprehensible. This series aims to visualize this fascination. As the members “strip down naked,” Ellie’s existence can be used to strip the society naked through art. In fact, this ambiguous feeling is the reason behind the formation of Chim↑Pom: its career started with ERIGERO. This is also Ellie’s lifework.
